A jacket without matching trousers is the hardest thing in a wardrobe to buy and the easiest to get wrong. A suit jacket worn on its own looks like a suit jacket missing its trousers, and everyone can tell. A proper sport jacket is cut differently – softer through the shoulder, shorter in the body, in cloth with enough texture to stand on its own.
It’s also the garment that has quietly replaced the suit in many parts of the world. If you’re only having one thing made, it may well be this. We’ve been cutting them in Bangkok since 1972, each from a pattern we make for you and keep on file for up to five years.

What you choose
- Structure: from lightly structured down to unlined and soft. In this climate, most clients choose a softer build, and whatever you choose is agreed with you.
- Shoulder: natural, lightly roped, or with a soft pad. We’ll look at your actual shoulder before recommending.
- Pockets: patch, flap, or jetted. Patch is the most relaxed and the most useful on a sport jacket.
- Buttons: horn, corozo, mother-of-pearl, or standard buttons.
- Lining: full, half, or unlined. Unlined is cooler and shows the work inside.

How long it takes
Allow four to five days including time for two fittings. On a short stay, message us your dates before you arrive and we’ll be ready for your appointment.
